Pre-orders for the new Ryzen-equipped version of HP’s beefy Omen 15 gaming laptop are now live in the UK, with an estimated shipping date of August 7th.
The Omen 15 comes equipped with a 15.6” FHD IPS Anti-Glare screen pushing a 144 Hz refresh rate, a three-sided micro-edge bezel, and a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Alongside is an eight-core, sixteen thread AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with a 2.9 GHz base clock speed, 4.2 GHz boost clock speed, and an 8 MB L3 cache, alongside 8 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM and a roomy 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. On the GPU front, the Omen 15 packs in an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with 6 GB of GDDR6.
The laptop also features HP Omen Tempest Cooling technology, sporting three-sided venting, and five-way airflow. HP designed the laptop with expansion in mind thanks to single-panel access to both the SSD and RAM to simplify upgrading. Dimensions-wise, the Ryzen Omen 15 tallies up 35.79(W) X 23.97(D) X 2.2(H) cm and 2.4 kgs.
A generous selection of ports decks out the Omen 15: 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (DisplayPort 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge), 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5 Gbps signaling rate (HP Sleep and Charge), 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5 Gbps signaling rate, 1 RJ-45, 1 AC Smart pin, 1 Headphone/microphone combo (DTS: X Ultra), 1 Mini DisplayPort, and 1 HDMI 2.0a.
Other features include full-size, island-style, 4-zone RGB backlit Keyboard, HP Wide Vision 720p HD camera with integrated dual array digital microphone, 64-bit Windows 10, HP Dual Speakers, HP Audio Boost with tuning by Bang & Olufsen, DTS:X Ultra, OMEN Audio Control Support DTS:X Ultra, multi-format SD media card reader, AMD Radeon FreeSync support, and up to 12.5 hours of battery life thanks to a 6-cell, 70.9 Wh Li-ion battery.
