Since August of 2017 folks have been waiting to get their hands on this ancient animal care sim, and it looks like the wait is going to be over pretty darn soon.

Prehistoric Kingdom Release Date

Prehistoric Kingdom was officially revealed by the developer back in August 2017, with a demo going live almost straight away. The game then moved to Kickstarter and was successfully funded to the tune of more than $88,000. Since then, we’ve all been waiting to hear more.

Now we know, the game will be going live on Early Access in April 2022, and will initially be coming exclusively to PC though it’s not out of the question for it to get a console release in the future considering how popular it seems to be.

Prehistoric Kingdom Trailer

The gameplay in Prehistoric Kingdom will probably be pretty familiar to anyone who’s ever touched a Zoo Tycoon game before. You construct habitats for your animals, and facilities for your guests, and have to keep both groups happy so you make a lot of money.

One of the main things that are going to separate this game from the others in the same field is the broad array of animals that you can raise. Most prehistoric animal care sims we’ve seen before (oddly specific genre though it is) have focused almost exclusively on the scaly stars of Jurassic Park movies. This game instead has a broader focus on all forms of extinct life, which is a nice touch.

Check out the early access trailer below to get an idea of what’s going on in the game.
