Roblox is reaching for Metaverse status as it gears up to launch its first electronic music festival alongside event promotor Insomniac, in a bid to create the world’s largest dance music festival. Roblox isn’t messing around either, their 43 million daily users give the intellectual property enough weight to pull an event like this off.

EDC Las Vegas 2021 will be the first music festival to be held on the popular game, which will also be happening in real life from October 23rd through to the 25th at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Electric Daisy Carnival will through Roblox fans straight into the thick of it thanks to globally recognized festival stages and areas such as Pixel Forest, Camp EDC, Cosmic Meadow, and more.

Can’t make it to Las Vegas, no problem, neither can we. But, we’ll still be able to watch the events from virtual stages in the World Party metaverse which start at around 4 PM PT on October 22nd for a limited pre-show. A cool twist here is the artists will be server hopping and doing meet and greets inside the World Party experience during the festival. It’s a tough one to get your head around, isn’t it?

What can we expect at the World Party?

Here’s a list of artists confirmed to be streaming their performances on the aforementioned virtual stages throughout the event:

  • Kaskade
  • Zedd
  • Alison Wonderland
  • Louis the Child
  • Slander b2b2 said the sky
  • Rezz
  • Lous Luxury
  • DJ Snake
  • Alan Walker
  • Phantoms
  • Wax Motif
  • Oliver Heldens
  • Benny Benassi

There are also quite a few activities to complete during the event too. What, you didn’t think Roblox would just have you watching performances for two days did you?

  • Aquire over 25 unique accessories using custom virtual kandi (festival bracelets)
  • Enter physical and digital competitions just for joining the World Party
  • Mini games including dance battles, cuddly toy collections and building your own home in Camp EDC

There’s a lot to take in, and you still might not be able to fully understand why this is such a big deal. Rumblings of the Metaverse is a hot topic right now, even Mark Zuckerberg wants to transform Facebook into a 3D professional playground for some solid remote working and activities. Whilst we’re a while away from a collective digital consciousness, the wheels and cogs are certainly in motion, and it looks like Roblox is one to look out for this fall.
