Getting ever closer to the release of the RTX 4000 series more and more info is leaked about it. The latest from kopite7kimi is the RTX 4080 and 4070 total card powers.

Previously they were said to have 420W and 300W total card power respectively. But this has now been updated.

We now expect these to have a rating of 320W and 285W. A significant decrease and possibly less likely to cost you the bank trying to run them.

It is a significant decrease and makes them a lot more viable. And if these stay true, the 4080 stays close to the 320W of the 3080 10GB TDP.

Whilst the 4070 would increase the power somewhat. Up from 220W of the RTX 3070, it is likely a 65W increase down from 80W. So not quite on the same level but at least something.

RTX 4080 and 4070 specification rumors

Now we have updated TDPs, we have a better look at what to expect from the cards. Making them seem a bit more impressive without a much more hungry spec.

The 4080 is expected to have 9,728 CUDA cores, up from 8,704 from the original 3080. Along with 16GB of GDDR6X memory clocked faster at 21 Gbps.

Where the saving in the 40 series card may come from is the 256-bit memory bus. Which is down from the 320-bit found in the previous generation. So now you may enjoy a better performance at roughly the same running costs.

Whilst the 4070 is expected to have 7,680 CUDA cores up from 5,888 of the 3070. It also increases the memory capacity to 12GB of GDDR6X.

As well as also improving the clock speed to 21 Gbps. Without yet mention of the bus, we don’t know the expected bandwidth.

But this card does require more total power to run and so you will need a bit more power to run it.
