The only thing new might just be the name

Intel Core “Non-Ultra” 200 series processors are speculated not to be based on Arrow Lake but rather to be a rebrand of the previous Raptor Lake and Alder Lake series.

Performance results for the Core 5 210H have just been spotted online and it looks like the supposedly “Core 200” series will be similar to the Alder Lake-based Core i5-12450H. Since the Core Ultra 200 series is confirmed to be Arrow Lake-based, it was assumed the Non-Ultra models would also feature next-gen architecture. However, the benchmark leaks for the unreleased Core 5 210H suggest otherwise, aligning more closely with the 12th and 13th-gen architectures.

Core 5 210H might offer slower performance than the Core i5-12450H

CrossMark CPU results for the Core 5 210 H show that the processor has an overall average score of 1,399 which is slower than the Core i5-12450H which had an average score of 1,445 points. This information comes from BAPCo and was pointed out by occasional leaker, Everest (Olrak29_ on X). While this might be an engineering sample, which would explain the lower results from the Core 5 210H, it is still surprising to see a slight difference.

The Core 5 210H also seems to be similar in specifications to the Core i5-12450H. It features an 8-core (possibly 4 P-cores and 4 E-cores) and 12-thread configuration. The cache layout is not mentioned on the BAPCo page, so we assume it can either be 7MB of L2 Cache (Raptor Lake) or 12MB (Alder Lake) same as the Core i5-12450H.

Core 5 210H use older architecture despite a new naming scheme

Intel’s new naming scheme for the Core 200 series processors might confuse users, especially if these CPUs are simply rebrands of older generations. This could mean that only the Core Ultra 200 series would feature next-gen Arrow Lake architecture, while the standard Core 200 series might use older architectures like Alder Lake or Raptor Lake, just with new branding.

Intel has previously used a similar strategy with its Meteor Lake processors, where the Core-U (Series 1) lineup turned out to be rebranded Raptor Lake-U CPUs. It appears Intel is following the same approach again. The Core Ultra 200S family is set to launch on October 24, while the non-K lineup will likely be announced at CES 2025, where we might also see the next-gen Arc Battlemage lineup debut.
