Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23+ vs S23 Ultra cameras

According to the latest rumors, the camera hardware for the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 Plus will stay the same as last year, and once again, these phones will share the same camera setup. The devices feature a triple rear camera setup–a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 85-degree field of view, a 12MP ultra-wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 12-degree field of view, and a 10MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 3x optical zoom capabilities.

Meanwhile, the biggest change this year is coming to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The company is replacing the 108MP primary sensor with the new 200MP ISOCELL HP2. It is a new custom sensor Samsung design just for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Reportedly, users can also switch between the 200MP, 50MP, and 12.5MP snaps depending on the level of detail and brightness. It is also tipped that the S23 Ultra will feature the same 12MP ultrawide sensor and dual 10MP telephoto lenses as the S22 Ultra.

Last year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra features a 40MP front camera, but Samsung is probably going to downgrade the sensor this year to a 12MP. The Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23 Plus will reportedly have the same front camera, an upgrade compared to last year’s 10MP.

This year Samsung is also rumored to add several features to all three Galaxy S23 devices. All the features aren’t confirmed yet, but rumors suggest Samsung will include portrait and video portrait mode, 8K video recording at 30FPS, and an Ultra Stabilization video recording mode for the S23 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23+ vs S23 Ultra processor

Samsung used Qualcomm chips on the previous Galaxy S series devices. However, it was only for the U.S. variants; the company used Exynos chipsets for the devices launched in Europe. Exynos is Samsung’s in-house chipset, and its performance wasn’t as good as the Qualcomm chipsets. It was a bad deal for Europe.

But this year, Samsung could change this with the Galaxy S23 series. It is rumored Samsung is scrapping the Exynos variants altogether, and all the devices will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm’s latest chipset released last year. This is a huge leap in terms of performance. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets can match the performance of Apple’s A15 Bionic chip. It is still behind Apple’s latest A16 Bionic, but currently, it is the best-performing Android chipset in the market.

It is also tipped that Samsung may use an overclocked version of Qualcomm’s chipset and a better cooling system for the S23 series, which could drastically boost the chip’s performance to an even higher level.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra storage & memory

The Galaxy S23 Ultra will offer two RAM options —8GB and 12 GB, while the S23 and S23 Plus will only offer 8GB variants.

However, a new report claims that Samsung will scrap the 128GB base storage versions for all the S23 models. This year, all the S23 variants could start with 256GB, while the S23 Ultra will reportedly feature 512GB and 1TB variants.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra screen

Samsung is not deviating from last year’s design. The S23 will feature a 6.1-inch(FHD), a 6.6-inch(FHD) screen for S23 Plus, and a 6.8-inch(QHD) panel for the S23 Ultra(QHD). If the rumors are accurate, all models will feature a 120Hz refresh rate; only the UItra model will have the adaptive refresh rate.

Last year’s base model Galaxy device had a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and the other two models had 1,750 nits of peak brightness. All the S23 series will reportedly have a peak brightness level of 1,750 nits.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra weight & dimensions

The rumored dimensions, weight, and IP rating of the upcoming Galaxy S23 series are as follows:

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs S23 Plus vs S23 Ultra battery life & charging

The Galaxy S22 series had poor battery life, and the fans demanded a better battery life for the Galaxy S23. According to recent rumors, Samsung listened and increased the battery size for the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus to 3,900 mAh and 4,700 mAh, respectively. The S23 Ultra will feature the same 5,000 mAh battery as last year’s.

The charging speed is also staying the same this year. The Galaxy S22 Plus and S22 Ultra had 45W wired charging speed and 25W for the Galaxy S22. Apparently none of this will change on the Galaxy S23 series.

Samsung Galaxy S23 price vs S23+ price vs S23 price

Up until recently, most rumors and tips suggested that Samsung will keep the same price as last year’s. This would mean the Samsung Galaxy S23 price would start from $799.

However, a new report suggests if Samsung decides to keep the same price, it will only happen in the United States. Europe and other regions may see a price increase.
