The Odyssey Neo G8 was finally released in the US on June 6th, available for $1,499 and available directly through Samsung’s website.

Samsung took the pleasure of announcing the new Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 at CES this month – another high-performance mini LED monitor to add to the already impressive Odyssey lineup.

The new 32-inch gaming monitor from Samsung will feature a 3840 x 2160 (UHD 4K) screen resolution alongside a rapid 240Hz refresh rate – making it the first 4K 240Hz gaming panel we’ve seen. Alongside this, the G8 will also deliver VESA DisplayHDR 2000 certification, Quantum mini-LEDs, and a 2000 nit brightness.

As you can imagine, the Samsung Neo G8 won’t be the cheapest monitor on the market, setting consumers back $1,499.99 in the US.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 release date

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 officially released on the 6th of June, 2022, in the US. Eager fans of the brand can now purchase the Samsung G8 over at Samsung today, however, the $50 price reduction for reserving no longer applies.

While the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 is currently available in several US retailers, the same can’t be said for the rest of the globe. Samsung say they will be rolling out the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 across various regions in June 2022, however, no signs of an official UK release date have been confirmed.

Having said that, you can pre order the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 from a few UK retailers.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G8: Sizing

As far as size goes, it looks like the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 will only come to shelves in a 32-inch variant.

Unlike the G7, which featured 27 inch and 32 inch variations, the same doesn’t look likely for the Neo G8. This is probably due to the specifications that drive the G8. With a 4K screen resolution, the display wouldn’t be well-optimized.

That being said, users can expect the same famous 1000R curved display that we saw on both the G7 and G9 models.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 price

The Neo G8 will hit shelves in the US for an eye-watering $1,499. While that might sound a little pricey, let’s not forget the price of other mini LED 32-inch monitors in today’s market – most notably the ASUS PG32UQX, a similarly specced $3000 alternative.

Right now, there isn’t an official price tag for the UK or Europe, however, UK’s Overclockers have listed a pre order page for the Samsung Neo G8 and it currently retails for £1,299 – pretty much what you’d expect considering the US pricing.

We will be updating this page with all the latest updates on UK and EU pricing as and when it launches.

Should you buy the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8?

So, there you have it, everything we currently know about the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 – a very impressive-looking 32 inch 4K gaming monitor.

If you’re in the market for a new high-performance 4K gaming monitor, we’d definitely recommend waiting this one out. It is by far the fastest 4K monitor we’ve ever seen, featuring specifications that are more geared towards esports gaming than hobbyists.

Better yet, it comes to shelves at a price that, when considering alternative options in today’s market, is considered incredibly good value for money. I don’t want to speak too soon, but it looks like Samsung have smashed it out of the park once again.
