Android tablets often garner a band name, because it’s just a less consistent performer by comparison to its most direct competitor, an iPad. Being a current owner of an Android tablet is a regular exercise in understanding how it all works, inside and out. This is with the exception of the Samsung Galaxy Tab series, which is in close contention with the iPad for the sheer smoothness of the overall experience that so many Android tablets manage to get wrong, and now assorted leakers have given us the full lowdown on what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, ahead of its official announcement.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 leaks

Courtesy of leaker Evan Blass and GSMArena, we’ve got the lowdown on what you can exactly expect from the latest tablet from Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is going to come in three Flavours, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. All of these tablets will be equipped with a blisteringly-fast 120Hz refresh rate screen, and will even be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Processors. This is somewhat peculiar, as we’d expect the Exynos 2200 to be placed here. But, that chip has a long and storied history. Not sure about which one is which? From what we can see here, each of the tablets is going to kick out some formidable performance, with all of them running on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform, this means that you can expect really fantastic performance, out of the chip, even if it doesn’t use one of Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chipsets which feature RDNA2 graphics and ray tracing. Hopefully, the Snapdragon 8 will make some strides to compete against the mighty M1-powered iPads. Though, there’s something to be said about the strides that Samsung has taken with regards to performance. We’re eager to see some of the benchmarks when this tablet finally releases out into the wild.
