Sifu release date: Confirmed and nearly ready to launch

We shall get through this without mentioning everybody going kung fu fighting, and that's a promise

Kung Fu fighting (dammit!) games are few and far between and that is why Sifi undoubtedly caught the eye when it was first mooted for a launch during this year. As with many things recently, well you know, pandemic and publisher Sloclap moved the launch back to February 22nd, 2022 to give them more time to add that extra polish that everybody loves. However, they have now announced there has been another slight tweak to the release date, and in an industry rarity, they have actually moved the date forward!

When will Sifu be released?

Sifu still won’t be arriving as per the original schedule of 2021 but the new date announced by Sloclap is February 8th, bringing the opportunity to kick some ass forward by a fortnight.

In a developer comment, Sloclap stated: “We have made good progress on getting our game ship-ready and we are excited to be able to launch Sifu two weeks earlier than anticipated,”

There are some big old games that have slipped into February so competition for your coin is going to be tough, but there doesn’t look like there is much out there in the same space as Sifu with its unusual mechanic of aging your character as you take a beating.

What is Sifu?

Sifu is a kung fu game where you are on the hunt for the assassins that killed your family. it has multiple environments from city suburbs to Die-Hard style corporate skyscrapers. The entire game is based over the course of a single day and the game is big on the player learning from their errors, changing the course of the fights to survive as long as possible without getting years knocked off your life by getting filled in by the bad guys.
