Sims 4 received a new update that allows players to choose their own pronouns. If you’ve chosen to use custom pronouns the feature will automatically change pronouns that show up when referring to the Sim to match what you’ve chosen. While the feature has been fully tested, there may be instances where the incorrect conjugation of pronouns or the default pronoun of the assigned gender may still appear due to the intricacies of grammar in English.

Custom Pronouns Added in English Only For Now

The customizable pronouns feature will only be available in English. However, EA plans on rolling out the feature to all 18 languages over time. At launch, custom pronouns can be uploaded to the Gallery and used in English only. While pronouns are a very important piece when it comes to greater inclusivity for The Sims 4, EA understands that customizable pronouns will not make the game 100% gender-neutral. You will still see instances of gendered language in the game such as mother, father, policeman, policewoman, etc.

Cosmetic Changes for Ears

One of the long-running issues of Sims 4 was that ears would often get clipped when sporting braided hair. While it is not a big deal for most players, it did make some characters look weird and EA has addressed the issue. You will now be able to use braided hairstyles and it will properly go over ears instead of clipping through them. The visual change has been applied to all existing and future hairstyles in the game.

Bug Fixes for Don’t Wake The Llama Table Game

An issue that players faced when playing ‘Don’t Wake The Llama’ in Sims 4. When trying to change the game, players realized that the option was completely gone. While the Change Game button showed up during other games, it did not work as intended when playing Don’t Wake The Llama. The issue has now been resolved and players should be able to view the interact button.

While the update does not bring significant content updates to the table, it is great that Sims 4 is becoming more inclusive, and more games might follow suit.
