Solana Mobile, a part of Solana Labs company, announced the launch of a premium Android smartphone named Saga for web3 fans. The Solana Saga is a high-end mobile device that comes with the Solana Mobile Stack.

Initially, Solana Saga was announced by Solana Mobile last year, and everyone was pretty excited about the company’s first smartphone. The device was initially supposed to launch under “OSOM,” but the company later changed its decision and confirmed the new Solana name. Here’s what we know about the release date of Solana Saga.

Solana Mobile initially announced the Solana Saga in June 2022 at an event in New York. During the event, the company also announced the Solana Mobile Stack. It is an Android framework that allows developers to construct sophisticated mobile experiences for Solana wallets and apps and a “Secure Element” for private key management. The smartphone is built with Crypto and NFTs in mind.

The company made us wait nearly a year; then, they set a release date for Saga. The company teased on Twitter, stating, “The wait is nearly over. Saga will be released soon.” The launch happened on Thursday, April 13th, at 1 PM ET.

Following the launch, the phone was still in it’s pre order phase. It then fully released on May 8th 2023. So you can pick one up today.

Solana Saga price info

The pre-orders were open for several months and will remain open throughout the launch day. Interested customers could book the device for $100. However, they have to pay an additional $900. So, the final cost comes to $1,000.

The Solana Saga store also lists extras, such as a Saga case for $19.99, screen protector for $24.99, and charging cable for $29.99.

The device will be initially available in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, China, Australia, and New Zealand.
