The team behind Call of Duty Vanguard has released a zombie trailer in the form of the mode’s opening cinematic. It’s a bit late, as Halloween has been and gone, but we suppose zombies are all year round and not just for October for Activision and Call of Duty, so it’s fine.

The mode, called “Der Anfang”, looks to be taking the supernatural angle on the somewhat tired yearly undead monster mode (remember when Call of Duty Zombies was a Black Ops exclusive?) instead of a technology based one, as it shows Nazi Oberführer Wolfram Von List using some sort of magical artefact to raise the undead hordes once again.

You can watch the spooky cinematic trailer below.

This isn’t our first glimpse at Vanguard Zombies as Activision and Sledgehammer also released a Call of Duty Vanguard zombie trailer back on October 14, 2021 which put the spotlight on what the new version of the mode’s gameplay was like. This time around, the zombies have ‘Dark Aether’ skills, which we assume will be a problem when it comes to us surviving their attacks for very long.

It also showed off a new range of zombie killing melee weapons that are covered in mysterious crystals of various colors which can seemingly create magical fire. It’s all a bit Wolfenstein-meets-Van Helsing.

If you’ve missed that trailer and would like to watch that one, then you can watch it below.
