Square Enix working on a Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary game

Some amongst you will remember the GeForce leaks, where a plethora of game titles were leaked. Little by little, they’ve been proving to be true, with more of the games on that list now being released. Well, among them was: Tomb Raider Anniversary (2021) and Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary (2021) by Crystal Dynamics.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the popular puzzle adventure game, Tomb Raider. And according to various leaks and rumours, Square Enix are working on something special for it. Recently released on their website was an indication that there’s some project in the works.
As for what kind of game it’ll be, we’re not sure. It’ll likely be similar, in looks, to the previous instalments. Though it could also be a remake of one of the older Tomb Raider games, in the new modern style.
There’s been little to no information about this new game, with many not even knowing of it. In fact, it was brought to our attention via Reddit, where an eagle-eyed user spotted this hint on the Square Enix website.
It’d be about time for another release, considering the last addition to the game’s franchise came in 2018, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. We can expect some kind of public announcement or more details about the game soon, perhaps it’ll be announced on Tomb Raider’s birthday (25th October) .
But it seems the general consensus from fans is that this mystery game will likely be a remake of a pre-existing game. Some have even suggested it’ll be a remake of Tomb Raider Anniversary which itself is also a remake. Then again, there are those who hope it’ll be a new game altogether. Then again, it seems more on-brand for it to be a remake of a former fan favourite.
