What was in the SSBU 13.0.1 patch notes?
A balance update is here for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

There’s been a new patch update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which brings us to SSBU version 13.0.1. Smash Ultimate remains a popular Nintendo Switch game, with the balance changes made by Bandai Namco and Nintendo every so often to keep the game fun for it’s active and competitive multiplayer combat community.
Alongside balance changes made in SSBU Ver. 13.0.1, we also see support arrive for the Metroid Dread Samus and E.M.M.I. amiibo. Dread Samus acts like any other Samus amiibo would with the game.
What was changed in the SSBU 13.0.1 patch notes?
Several changes to the game balance of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have arrived with SSBU version 13.0.1, but we understand that most competitive players will mostly be interested in how those changes affect their mains. We’ll give you the cliff notes version of the patch info below.

In SSBU Ver. 13.0.1, these characters were buffed and made stronger:
- Donkey Kong
- Link
- Peach
- Daisy
- Ice Climbers
- Falco
- Mewtwo
- Meta Knight
- Wario
- Ike
- Mega Man
- Rosalina & Luma
- Robin
- Bowser Jr.
- Ryu
- Cloud
- Inkling
- Ridley
- Piranha Plant
Mewtwo, Meta Knight, Bowser, Ike and Wario see increases to the overall power of some of their attacks, while characters like Link and Mega Man see increases in attack speed and distance. Others have more specific power ups, like Rosalina & Luma, who have had their basic movement made better.

In the SSBU Ver. 13.0.1, these characters were nerfed:
- Min Min
- Pyra/Mythra
Minmin has had her vulnerability increased in the SSBU 13.0.1 patch notes, while her attack lengths have been lowered. It’s a full on nerf. Pyra and Mytrha have met a similar fate, with increased vulnerability and animation changes when knocked to the ground.
In SSBU Ver. 13.0.1, fixes or other changes were made to:
- Steve
- Sora
Steve has had changes made to the hitbox of his Up Smash Attack, while Sora has had changes made to his animation lengths. Time will only tell how this will affect their viability, so we can’t exactly say that they’ve been buffed or nerfed just yet.
