Star Wars: Squadrons, Ghostrunner rumored for Amazon Prime Gaming

Amazon Prime Gaming is one of those weird services that most probably have, but that they continuously forget about it to the point where they load up their Twitch rewards to see what they have and are always surprised. When did that copy of Devil May Cry get there? Who knows! A bounty of surprises.
Well, it seems Amazon is trying to step up their game a little with the supply of featured games, including last year’s Star Wars: Squadrons, the spiritual revival of the X-Wing and Rogue Squadron games (and something of a hit with the WePC VR crew).
The raging war on who can suck up the most subscription money seems to be heating up as time goes on, as Netflix has also begun to enter the market. But Amazon is still intent on providing free ‘loot’ every month with the hopes you keep that Amazon Prime subscription going.
Weirdly, these games don’t even get a free pass on their own games streaming network, Luna, which functions similarly to Prime Video, where you subscribe to the service and additional ‘channels’, depending on what you want to play.
What games are in October’s Prime Gaming?
Squadrons is available on Game Pass at the moment via EA Play, consolidating where and how you can play it, but the list provided by known Internet Deals Master, Wario64, seems to be that Amazon is just providing a variety of codes for where these games can be redeemed.

Amazon’s new MMO, New World, looks like it’s going to be a hit, but Amazon’s game development venture has been far from a success, with last year’s cooperative shooter, Crucible, being pulled and cancelled after release. If Amazon is signing up the likes of Star Wars Squadrons to keep its Prime users on board, it’s an escalation in the game subsciption service war, but not one that seems likely to alter the balance of power.
