Starfield Release Date delayed till 2023

In June 2021, during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase at E3, Bethesda revealed the first trailer for their much-anticipated Sci-Fi, space RPG Starfield. The trailer gave us the first proper look at the game, and even confirmed the proposed release date for Starfield as well.

What is Starfield?

Starfield has been dubbed by designer Todd Howard as “Skyrim in space.” And he’d know, having worked on them both. That’s totally enough to give us an idea of what to expect from the massive and all-new Sci-fi universe. Speaking of, it’s a pretty exciting concept to think we’ll be introduced to an entirely new and unique in-game environment in a time that sometimes feels overwhelmed by sequels.

Starfield release date delayed till 2023

In sudden news on May 12, Bethesda revealed it is delaying the Starfield release date till the first half of 2023. The news comes after a recent Twitter post revealed it to the world. We will need to wait till closer to the time before a new date appears. We believe it is somewhere between April and June, but that is our theory only.

Starfield is still set to be released on November 11th, 2022. While this may seem like a long way off, there is going to be a lot to this huge game and its new universe, so there’s a lot of work to undertake. With so many games having been delayed in the last couple of years, it’s probably best for the developers to be safe than sorry. In a recent chat with IGN, Todd Howard has confirmed that they are “confident” that Starfield will be ready by this release date. Turns out that didn’t age well at all.

Starfield system requirements

Though these are obviously still very early days, you can see our best estimates on what PC you will need to run Starfield on our system requirements page, which we will be updating as more information becomes available closer to release.

Which platforms will Starfield be on?

Starfield will be an Xbox-exclusive game as far as consoles are concerned, coming only to the Xbox Series X and S. Starfield won’t be available on the Xbox One, or PlayStation 4 or 5.

Starfield will be available on PC, though – so worry not, PC gamers!
