Steam Summer Sale Dates Leaked

If, like many of us, you’re always looking for a great deal on a new game, Steam’s summer sale is a date to mark in the calendar.

We’ve not known much about this year’s Steam sale, but it’s always highly anticipated, especially with many of us stuck at home with nothing to do. Gaming has been a great way to relax during this time and Steam’s user figures have boomed over the past few months.

So, if you’ve got your eye on a couple of titles but have been waiting for them to go down in price, this leak will be of interest to you.

When Will the Steam Summer Sale Start?

The Steam summer sale will reportedly start on June 25th, 2020, and end on July 9th. This leak comes from the Twitter account @thexpaw who cites Chinese sources for the date confirmation.

The Twitter account is run by Pavel Djundik who is one of the people behind the Steam Database. This is a website well known for leaking information about Steam, which mostly turns out to be accurate.

That plus the fact that the Steam summer sale date leaks pretty much every year, we’d say there’s a good chance it’s true.

Loyalty Program Coming to Steam

Another thing that Djundik mentioned on his Twitter account was that Valve is currently working on a loyalty scheme. This will feature a points system that also “includes reward items, redeeming points for badge level, and possibly game discounts”.

There will also be an option to add reactions to user reviews, much in the same way that you can with social media sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn. Djundik even shared a screenshot of some of the possible reactions users will be able to expect.

It looks like there’s a lot of exciting things happening over at Steam this summer. We are looking forward to seeing what deals will be available this summer and we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for the loyalty program.

If we hear any more updates on the Steam sale or the potential rewards program, we will let you know as soon as we find out.
