Team 17, the UK publisher, has announced it is publishing Small Impact Games’ first game, Marauders. Marauders is a new Escape from Tarkov style looter shooter, where you can go solo or with up to four players and scavenge and fight players and build your persistent inventory.
The game is currently still in development. However, we got to see what the game is all about. The core of the game is all about looting and scavenging weapons and other goodies in session-based multiplayer lobbies against other players and AI.
As for the game’s key features, you essentially play as a Space pirate, searching for wrecks, taking whatever you can from the ships. When you get on wrecked ship hulls or explore space battles, you will experience simulated weapon fire and feel the power of space technology with a dieselpunk spin. Moreso, this game will allow players to build ships and upgrade them, giving the game its unique twist on the growing genre. You can even steal other players’ ships if you really wanted (which feels very Eve Online if you ask me). It also features the usual persistent inventory on your character, so anything you gain or lose will reflect your account’s inventory.
For those interested in the game, it will go into early access launch on Steam later in 2022. It will also be available to players on the PC Game Pass when it does go live. As it stands, there is no date for the game’s launch, but, there is a playable demo in the upcoming WASD festival in April held in London.
