This CPU is a good option for gaming in 1440p, and boasts an impressive offering in the price to performance department, while this motherboard supports everything you’d need if you’re looking to keep costs down with other components.
Black Friday is back, and with it comes huge savings on some of the market’s most popular gaming and tech products. We’ll be covering all the best deals in more details over in our deals hub, but if you haven’t got time to read through those, why not see our top picks below.
What we like about the Ryzen 5 7600X and MSI Pro B650-S
This CPU was released back in 2022 and is for the AM5 socket. It’s a punchy processor that impressed us when we reviewed it, specifically with its excellent single-core and gaming performance. It’s also surprisingly efficient, but absolutely needs a powerful cooler to keep running at its best.
MSI makes some of the best motherboards on the market, and this is a good lower-tier option to go for, pairing nicely with this mid-range CPU. You’ve got DDR5 support on this, WIFI 6E, but it’s lacking PCIe 5.0 support, so you’ll have to stick with Gen 4 SSDs. Not bad, considering these are way cheaper than Gen 5, and still incredibly fast.
Core CPU specs: 6 cores, 12 threads, 5.3 GHz max boost, 38MB cache, and a TDP of 105W.
Excellent for gaming: This processor does very well for gaming, especially at 1440p, thanks to its high boost clock and large cache.
Easy upgrade path: This motherboard supports the AM5 CPU socket, so you can easily upgrade your CPU without having to swap out your motherboard. I’d recommend the Ryzen 7 7800X3D for the next upgrade.
Motherboard key specs: AM5, DDR5 RAM support up to 256GB, M.2 slots 2x PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Slot, WIFI 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, ATX form factor.
Good for cost-effective builds: Many of the components compatible with this motherboard are often on sale, which will drastically reduce the overall price.

Who’s this deal for and is it the best time to buy?
Coming in at $349.99, this is a good deal for those looking to kick off a solid, mid-range gaming build for less, and who also don’t mind missing out on some of the arguably overkill features of higher-end motherboards.
As you can see from the graph above, it looks like this bundle has been stable at $369.99 for sometime. The current price drop doesn’t appear to have registered on camelcamelcamel, but it’s likely to be at the best price it’s been. Even though the discount isn’t huge, if you’re sticking to a budget this saving should still add up.
