Why we like the ASUS Strix Z890-E
Besides what we already mentioned, because this is an LGA 1151 motherboard, you have to get a new Core Ultra series CPU from Intel, which is unfortunate. Intel has managed to do a lot while disabling Hyperthreading, but gaming performance suffers. But that’s not why we’re here; if you’re curious, you can read our reviews of the Core Ultra series 245K, 265K, and 285K.
The ROG Strix Z890 is a fantastic platform with a real grasp on bringing PCs into the future. It has a robust power delivery system, many AI overclocking features, and support for even the newest connectivity options.
Storage and expansion capabilities also stand out, with seven M.2 slots, including three PCIe 5.0 slots for ultra-fast storage solutions. Thunderbolt 4 and USB Type-C ensure you’re equipped with the latest in high-speed connectivity, while WiFi 7 provides blazing-fast wireless performance for gaming and streaming.

Why this is a good deal
This motherboard Cyber Monday deal is good simply because it’s the lowest price it has ever been, and Camelcamelcamel shows no markups before the sale goes live, which is always nice to see.
If you want a motherboard that can do justice to your Core Ultra series CPU (though they are not currently on sale), then this is a fine option. We think that $500 is a lot to ask for (for a motherboard, at least, as you can build whole PCs for that), but this Cyber Monday markdown makes it a little more manageable.
