If you lose your Wordle streak today, you probably won’t be feeling how Will Smith does this week, but one Twitter user still drew the comparison.

I’ll give you the above tweet as an extra hint today, a hint to be warned that – yet again – there are a few options to today’s answer. A few people I’ve seen today have wound up in a similar situation to TheShaggyGhost, myself included. Let’s see if we can get your there with some clues for today’s Wordle 284 answer for March 30, 2022.

I might have given it away with that last one (as long as you read it carefully), so hopefully you already had it before then. Today’s Wordle answer is… STOVE. The “water”, “found” situation is back all over again as you can have words like “stone”, and “stoke”, which is why you’ll see some failures online again today. Hopefully that’s not you due to my clues, but I was sneaky with that last one. Of course “stoke” also involves heat, but as it’s a verb, it’s doesn’t meet the requirements of the final clue.

Stove meaning

So “stove” actually has a few different meanings, which we’ll take a look at here. Firstly, and probably most commonly, as a noun, a stove is an item for cooking on – hence clue five. In British English, “stove” can also be used as a noun to describe a hothouse for plants.

From there, “stove” is also used as a verb for fumigating a building with chemicals, or to heat an item to treat its surface, for example metalwork or ceramics. And finally, “stove” is the past participle of “stave”, i.e. to force something to break.

Hopefully we saved you from breaking that streak today, and we’ll back again tomorrow with another helping hand. In the meantime, if you’ve not already, check out our list of our favorite Wordle alternatives.
