Total War Warhammer 3 Delayed? When Will Total War Warhammer 3 Be Released?

Total War Warhammer 3 has been delayed! Yes, unfortunately, The Total War Warhammer 3 release date has been pushed back. Often incorrectly quoted as the Warhammer Total War 3 release date, or abbreviated to Total Warhammer 3 (Creative Assembly should have gone with this one in our opinion!) the latest installment of the hugely popular fantasy strategy series based on Games Workshop’s Warhammer Fantasy universe was scheduled for imminent release, but it now looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer.

Total War: Warhammer III follows the same basic template of every game in the classic Total War series: players control a faction which owns regions on a global strategy map, each with their own cities and economies that you can tailor and control to your needs, from which you build armies that you use to take on your opponents in fully realized Real Time Strategy battles.
The Total War: Warhammer series takes this template and applies it to the Warhammer Fantasy world, replete with orcs, goblins, elves, dwarves, men, Lizardmen, Skaven (i.e. ratmen, yes-yes!) the undead, and the armies of chaos, each of which are playable factions with their own mechanics.
Total War: Warhammer III will apparently be the final installment of the series, and will focus on the demonic armies of the four Chaos gods, the human nations of Kislev (magic medieval Russia with ridable polar bears!) Cathay (magic Imperial China), and an unknown pre-order-only faction, rumored to either be the Orge Kingdoms or the Chaos Dwarves.
Whilst we did not have a specific Warhammer Total War 3 release date, the game was due to come out at some point in Q4 2021.
Unfortunately, as you can see in the developer’s press release above, the Total War Warhammer 3 release date has been pushed back until early 2022, in order that Creative Assembly can release a fully polished product.
So all although it’s true Total War Warhammer 3 is delayed, it only seems we’ll have to wait a couple more months – as annoying as that may be for some hoping to play the game during the holidays!
The Total War Warhammer series are known to be fairly demanding games, being both GPU and CPU intensive. Fortunately, whilst we can expect to see graphical updates in the new Total War Warhammer 3, the core engine will be the same as that of the previous game, so the leap in system requirements is not likely to be particularly great.
