At the Nintendo Direct event on September 23, Square Enix announced the Triangle Strategy release date. Previously known as Project Triangle Strategy, the game is made by Tokyo RPG Factory, and has since been fine-tuned since its previous demo, released earlier this year in February. According to the publisher, the game has since received a little bit of nip-tuck in the form of some balance changes and adjustments based on player feedback, which had a hand in the late stages of the game’s development. You can check out the latest trailer for Triangle Strategy below.
Triangle Strategy sees you taking the role of Serenoa Wolffort, which is bit of a mouthful, admittedly. But, suspend your disbelief, as this game come directly from the same developers as Octopath Traveller, a smash hit early in the lifecycle of the Nintendo Switch. Lending itself to a self-serious tone, Triangle Strategy just oozes out a similar style and tone to the Playstation 1 classic Final Fantasy Tactics, which was written by the critically acclaimed Yasumi Matsuno. Though, these days Matsuno instead is contributing to other projects at Square Enix, having recently written the “Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr” questline in Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. The same tone and style looks to be present in Triangle Strategy, which we know many fans of the genre are definitely looking forward to indulging in upon it’s impending release.
Triangle Strategy release date
During the Nintendo Direct on September 23, it was announced that Triangle Strategy will be releasing on March 4, 2022. This doesn’t come as a huge shock, as Square Enix showed off a pretty expansive demo earlier in the year. So for those who can’t get enough deep, fantastical politicking in their turn-based strategy game, you can slake your thirst in early spring, thanks to this mighty-impressive looking RPG, with some absolutely beautiful visuals. We absolutely cannot wait to play more of Triangle Strategy when it releases next year.
