2019 viral puzzle game Untitled Goose Game is finally making its long-awaited debut on Steam on September 23rd, and developer House House is introducing a brand new character to mark the occasion – a second goose. Yep, double slapstick-fueled trouble.

In practice, this means Untitled Goose Game is landing a two-player co-op mode as House House announced in a trailer broadcast during Nintendo’s Indie Games Showcase yesterday. Players will be able to draft in a friend and honk their way through the entire game together, plotting to rile up the local village folk in all manner of creative ways. Based on the brief footage in the trailer, Untitled Goose Game’s co-op looks just as ridiculously enjoyable and packed with appealing simplicity as the existing single-player format.

Here’s what House House had to say about the announcement:

“Soon you’ll be able to enjoy Untitled Goose Game with a friend, in a new two-player cooperative mode. Play through the whole game as two horrible geese, honking twice as much, teaming up to plan pranks, and generally ruining everyone’s day, together.”

As for the features, here they are:

  • New goose, new honk, still horrible
  • Play through the entire game with two players
  • Work together as two geese to make even bigger trouble
  • A free update for all owners of Untitled Goose Game

The new cooperative mode will arrive as part of a free update on all platforms, including PC via Steam, Itchi.io, and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
