The sniper is not what it once was but are they pointless?

Warzone 2 has faced a bag of mixed criticism since its release but you have to give credit to Infinity Ward and Raven Software for continued updates and support.

The new gulag, Al Mazrah, and the gameplay overall are actually pretty enjoyable but there is a long wish list for many players out there hoping to get the game as near perfect as possible.

One of the major areas of concern for players at the moment is the feeling that Snipers have been rendered pointless.

Should you even pick a sniper up?

At the start of Warzone 2 Season 1, there was only one sniper rifle that could one-shot a triple-plated enemy  — the Victus XMR.

The Victus XMR is arguably the best sniper in the game but faced a nerf in the December patch.

While not everyone is mad about snipers in Warzone 2, there was something incredibly satisfying about downing an enemy in one shot, it is a first-person shooter after all…

Warzone 1 players will recall the KAR98’s stopping power but more so the HDR‘s ability to knock in one.

There is much to be fixed in Warzone 2 but nerfing snipers seems like an odd choice from the developers. This is battle royale after all and the threat of a one-hit down always spices up a game.

Another reason to bring back the old sniping ways would be for solos!

Solo has never been as fun as duos/ trios/ squads but on the rare occasion it is, there is often a sniper highlight involved.
