Alongside all of the new weapons that are added to Destiny 2 every season, there is one weapon that is picked to be the special seasonal weapon. This weapon will be given to all players already masterworked and has a curated perk list on it.

This season, the Ecliptic Distaff is the seasonal weapon that players are hunting down this season and some are a bit confused by it. Let’s go over how you can get the Ecliptic Distaff and Destiny 2 and what it comes with.

How to Get The Ecliptic Distaff In Destiny 2

This season’s special weapon is a glaive called The Ecliptic Distaff and upon seeing it appear in some challenges, many players are searching for what it is and how to get it.

In order to get your own copy of The Ecliptic Distaff, you will need to hit rep rank 16 in either Vanguard, Gambit, or Crucible. Once you reach that rank for one of the activities, you can go to the vendor and be handed a copy of Ecliptic Distaff.

Hitting rank 16 isn’t too hard for a specific activity as long as you commit to grinding one singular activity. This is because you can get up to a five times multiplier for rep points if you play the same activity over and over.

If you wait for a week while one of the activities has double rep point gains, you can speed up the grind even more.

What Does The Ecliptic Distaff Come With In Destiny 2

Unlike most other weapons in Destiny 2, Ecliptic Distaff comes with pre-determined perks on it. While this does mean you won’t be able to get some of the best perks in the game on it. Instead, it comes with the following perks:

  • Vanguard’s Vindication – Final blow grant a small amount of health
  • One Quiet Moment – Grants increased reload speed outside of combat
  • Gun and Run – Rapid kills grant you bonus sprint speed
  • Close to Melle – Projectile final blows improve melee damage, and getting melee kills extends the duration
  • Destabilizing Rounds – Final blows cause nearby targets to become volatile
  • Replenishing Aegis – Blocking damage partially reloads this weapon
  • Immovable Object – Dealing ranged damage grants increased weapon energy while you’re stationary with your shield raised
  • Alloy Magazine – Faster reloads when the magazine is empty
  • Ballistic Tuning – Increased range, decreased shield duration

This will be the roll on the weapon no matter which vendor you get it from or if you pull it from collections. It does also come fully masterworked with a shield duration bonus on it.

You can also get custom skins to apply onto the glaive by fully resetting your rank with one of the activity vendors. The second set of rewards will contain a skin for the Ecliptic Distaff themed after the activity you get the skin from.

You will most likely need to get all of these skins from each of the vendors for seasonal challenges and to complete the seasonal seal.
