AMD announced the Ryzen 7000 X3D series at CES 2023, we saw lots of good come from the 3D V-cache inside the 5800X3D, which was briefly crowned as the world’s fastest gaming CPU. Let’s hope that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will have a similar uplift from AMD’s new and Improved 3D V-cache. We can’t wait to see what it can do. Here’s where to buy AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

Where to buy AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Here we will list all of the best places you can buy a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and update the stock of each retailer as often as we can. Be careful to only buy a CPU from your region!

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D: Specs

Here are the specifications for the new Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D specs

  • Architecture: Zen 4
  • Core count: 8
  • Thread count: 16
  • Boost speed: 5.0GHz
  • Cache: 104MB
  • TDP 120W

As you can see, all seems normal until you notice the humungous amount of cache for a Ryzen 7 CPU. This isn’t just any cache either, this is 3D V-cache. This cache is stacked vertically instead of laterally, giving the edge to both access speeds and capacity. All this without increasing the cache footprint on the CCD.

The reason that the 7800X3D will not be as affected by the V-cache as much as the 5800X3D is that the 7800X3D uses two CCDs. One CCD contains the V-cache and the other CCD does not. That means that half of the CPU is still able to boost to rated speeds, and the other half benefits from the faster, larger cache. The system is able to delegate tasks to each CCD depending on the load it will require to process.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D launch date

It has come to light that the Ryzen 7000X3D lineup is set to make its debut this year, albeit in a staggered fashion.

To be more specific, the initial batch of central processing units (CPUs) is slated to arrive in February, with the rest following suit in April. AMD has announced that the 7900X3D and 7950X3D will be available on February 28th, while the 7800X3D will hit the shelves on April 6th, 2023.

Although the reasoning behind AMD’s decision to unveil the 7000X3D series in this manner remains a topic of debate, there is speculation that the lackluster sales of higher-end stock-keeping units (SKUs) may have played a role.
