The specifications of the Ryzen 9 7900 are as follows:

As you can see, the specifications are basically identical to the 7900X bar the CPU core speeds, and the insanely low TDP compared to the 7900X. The TDP stands at 65W, very low compared to the 7900X’s 170W! CPUs like this are ideal to pack a punch into smaller form factor hardware. as CPUs with a lower TDP consume less power and require less cooling.
Ryzen 9 7900 launch date
The launch date for the Ryzen 9 7900 is the 10th of January 2023.
This is the same launch date as all of the “non-X” Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. AMD made this announcement at CES 2023, where AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su gave us the spread on the new Ryzen 7000 series “non-X” CPUs. Sadly, AMD didn’t delve too much into performance.
