The Intel 12th gen Alder Lake CPUs are now only weeks away from launch, with the Core i7-12700 & i7-12700K being one of the SKUs that will get released first. This new generation of processors sees Intel introduce its new hybrid architecture to the desktop x86 world. The launch of the i7-12700K coincides with the new Z690 motherboards and DDR5 RAM, making this an exciting winter period for the enthusiast.

The release date for the Intel Core i7-12700 and i7-12700K is set for the 4th of November. We think they will release the three main SKUs first (i9-12900K, i7-12700K, and i5-12600K), with the rest following in 2022. We believe pre orders start from the 27th of October, indicating the launch is very close.

One thing we are confident about is that the Core i7 SKUs are likely to be more expensive than the 11th gen. This is obviously down to them featuring more cores and in theory, they should be faster too.

We expect the price of the i7-12700K to be placed around the $400-$500 mark.
