Intel announced the i9-13900KS way back on September 27th when it unveiled the rest of the 13th -generation processors. Well, that’s not strictly speaking true, Intel eluded to a “6GHz CPU” within the 13th generation that will be “announced later”, but we all knew what it was. The Core i9-13900KS promises to break boundaries in terms of CPU performance, with Intel proudly announcing that the new unnamed CPU would break the 6GHz barrier out of the box. That is a very impressive feat, and one that could only be dreamed of, even just a couple of years ago.

The 13900KS is a beast in its own right, and we’re about to show you why. Here are the specifications of the Core i9-13900KS

- Threads: 32
- Base clock frequency: P-cores 3.2 GHz / E-cores 2.2 GHz
- Boost clock frequency: P-cores 6 GHz / E-cores 4.3 GHz
- L3 cache: 36MB
- Default TDP: 125 W / 253 W boost.
- iGPU: Intel UHD graphics 770
As you can see, the 13900KS is a formidable CPU. The specifications are very similar to the base 13900K, but we have some higher base and boost frequencies on the CPU cores. The middle “Intel Turbo Max Technology” booster threshold has also been increased by 100 MHz.
Intel Core i9-13900KS launch date
The launch date for the Intel Core i9-13900K is set to be the 12th of January 2023.
Intel launched a bundle of other processors on the 2nd of January but wanted to wait to release the 13th gen 13900KS. Probably to see how well AMD’s 7000 “non-X” series performed before it released the KS.
