The Ryzen 7 9800X3D has finally hit the shelves after much anticipation (and a subpar base 9000 series launch). Bringing impressive gaming performance with AMD’s latest 3D V-Cache technology. According to the latest reviews, the 9800X3D blows everything out of the water regarding gaming. So if you want a piece of AMD’s 9000X3D series for yourself, here’s a rundown of the best places to secure your own 9800X3D across major regions.

We’re on the day of the launch, so we expect every major retailer to carry stock of the 9800X3D. We’ve also not seen any stock alerts indicating stock issues, so we should be ready.

United States Retailers

United Kingdom Retailers

  • Amazon UK: Consistent for launch day orders, with a reputation for fast fulfilment.
  • Scan: A great pick for PC builders, often carrying high-demand products.
  • Overclockers UK: Known for enthusiast-grade hardware and pre-order options for launches.
  • Currys: Another option with regional reach and physical store presence.

Canada Retailers

  • Amazon Canada: A reliable option, often mirroring US pricing trends.
  • Best Buy Canada: Useful for in-store pickups and tracking local stock.
  • Newegg Canada: Typically stocks AMD products close to release dates.

Pre order information and pricing

Pre-orders for the 9800X3D are available at select retailers like B&H Photo Video and Newegg, and orders are expected to open at specific times on November 7. AMD has set the MSRP at $479 USD, slightly above the launch prices of previous X3D models like the 7800X3D. However, we are already seeing the prices slowly creep up elsewhere.

Will we see more 9000X3D CPUs?

While the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the only confirmed model with a 3D V-Cache, rumours suggest that Ryzen 9 versions might follow in early 2025, potentially at CES. The 9800X3D remains the latest entry in AMD’s high-performance gaming lineup. In all honesty. it’s also most likely the best.

If we look at the 7000X3D series lineup, the 7800X3D is the best gaming chip by far. The X3D cache does not scale linearly with the number of cores. If anything, the additional cores seem to get in the way. AMD has indeed made massive advancements with X3D this time around, so that might not be the case anymore. We’ll have to wait and see.
