World of Warcraft: Shadowlands final patch releases February 22nd
Even Eternity must end
Following a tumultuous time for developers Blizzard, fans will be relieved to hear that World of Warcraft is proceeding on track. The Shadowlands expansion has taken players beyond the veil of death, and now the otherworldy story is barrelling towards its conclusion.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands new content
Patch 9.2 – titled as Eternity’s End – will bring a host of new content, befitting the end of an expansion. An entirely new zone named Zereth Mortis will appear; “an otherworldly location that defies all concepts of reality or physics.” Shadowlands’ metaphysical environments have been a highlight of the expansion for many. Questing through various afterlives has brought a sense of variety and uniqueness back to the game. A perfect contrast to some of the more grim and grounded aspects of Battle for Azeroth. No doubt this new area will be a treat for fans to explore as well.
All the regular World of Warcraft content features will make an appearance as well. New World and Daily quests will be added. And a new raid titled Sepulchre of the First Ones will debut along with them. Players will finally get the chance to go toe-to-toe with The Jailer as the end of this raid. As the architect of most of Shadowlands’ misfortunes, players will relish the chance to put an end to this being that presided over the deaths – and post-deaths – of so many. And they won’t have to do it alone, as they will be assisted by a new friendly faction named The Enlightened.
Two factions, one family
And patch 9.2 isn’t the end of the big World of Warcraft news. Following shortly thereafter, patch 9.2.5 will allow cross-faction gameplay for the first time. What’s more unlikely than killing death itself? Horde and Alliance fighting permanently side-by-side! And yet here we are. Exciting times for Azeroth indeed
