The VIVE XR Elite is a virtual reality headset that does not require an external base station or PC to be used. It’s a standalone headset that uses the Vive XR Controllers, also called “VIVE Controllers for XR Series”.

In this article, we will share everything we know so far about the VIVE XR Elite controllers, including the specifications, features, and more. So read on!

VIVE XR Elite controllers – Best features

The VIVE XR Elite controllers were originally designed to be used with HTC VIVE Focus 3. However, they are also compatible with VIVE XR Elite. These controllers are outside-in-tracked, which means that they use the tracking cameras integrated with the headset to control their position. They do not require base stations.

These controllers come with 4 sensors in total, including Hall sensors on the Grip and Trigger buttons, a G-Sensor, a Gyroscope, and Capacitive sensors on the Joystick, Trigger, and Thumb-rest areas.

Compatible with the VIVE Focus 3 and VIVE XR Series, these controllers come with ergonomically placed buttons, including a Grip button, an Analog Trigger button, AB/XY buttons, System/Menu buttons, and a joystick

Lastly, in terms of battery life, they can last up to 15 hours. They come integrated with a rechargeable battery that can be charged via USB-C. However, battery life may vary depending on your usage.

Overall, these controllers look to be really intuitive and easy to figure out. They allow great hand tracking and might be a competitor to the PSVR 2 controllers in terms of ease of use.
