Plastids are an Uncommon resource used in crafting Weapons, Warframes, Components, and numerous other items in Warframe.

They are found on a wide variety of planets and dropped as loot by many enemies. They are described in-game as disgusting, which may explain why many enemies drop them.

As a valuable and versatile item, farming Plastids is a very useful activity to boost your resources for crafting. They are dropped in bundles of 10-30, so farming them is highly rewarding.

This guide will point you towards the best and most efficient methods of farming Plastids so that you’ll always have some to hand.

Firstly, you’ll want to choose a Warframe that is suited to resource farming.

We have found that Hydroid with Pilfering Swarm and Khora with Pilfering Strangledome are very useful for their ability to steal additional loot. Additionally, a Nekros with their Desecrate ability and an Atlas equipped with Ore Gaze will also force enemies to drop additional resources, including Plastids.

Equipping one of these Warframes on a solo run will boost your yields considerably, however, we recommend Farming with other Tennos, as it is far more profitable to run these missions as part of a team. Ensure that you have at least one of these Warframes in your party and you’ll be laughing all the way to the Plastid bank!

With these tips in mind, here are some of the best Plastid Farming locations:

Uranus – Assur – Survival (Infestation 25-35)

The lower-level enemies on this mission make this a good mission for solo farming. The +25% resource drop chance will prove useful in your hunt for Plastids, and this is also a great spot for Polymer Bundles! Kill enemies, hunt for containers, and fill up on resources.

Saturn – Piscinas – Survival (Infestation 26-36)

Another relatively low-level mission, this survival mission is notorious for its Plastid yields. There is a +20% additional resource drop chance, which is very helpful for farming.

Running this mission solo or as a team can net you a lot of resources, provided you explore the map and take out as many enemies as you can.

Take advantage of any choke points or dead-ends, as the infestation enemies will literally run to you, meaning that high-DPS players can make short work of large groups.

There is also a good chance that you will pick up a rare Orokin Cell or two, which are a highly sought-after component in crafting!

Eris – Zabala – Survival (Infestation 35-45)

Zabala is a higher level Survival mission that can be great for farming Plastids provided you have the recommended Warframes and abilities.

There is a +30% additional resource drop chance on this map, which combined with a team of Hydroids, Khoras and Nekros can significantly boost Plastid drops.

Make sure you search the map for any additional containers; you can also find useful Mutagen Samples as a bonus!

Camping in a dead-end with your team is the best strategy. Try using Hydroid’s Pilfering Swarm, sit back with a mimosa, and watch your space tentacles do all the work!

Pluto – Heiracon – Excavation (Infestation 35-45)

With a +35% resource drop chance, Heiracon is one of the most highly profitable missions to farm Plastids.

This is an Excavation mission and is, therefore, best farmed as part of a team. Successfully defending the Excavators against hordes of enemies will net you bundles of Plastids, and as a bonus, you will receive the special resource Cryotic too, which is very useful in blueprints.

Bring a well-equipped team, kill as many enemies as you can, and turn Heiracon into an organic Plastid farm!

Bonus Tips for Farmers

The Smeeta Kavat is a very useful pet to bring with you when farming, as their Charm ability will increase the amount of loot you find.

300 Plastids can be bought for 30 Platinum at the Market, however, the relative ease of farming the resource makes this purchase quite unprofitable. We suggest you hang onto your precious money!

Plastids are a disgusting nanite-infested tissue mass, but to the right Tenno, they are very valuable. Hopefully, this guide will help you efficiently obtain bundles for crafting: let us know if you find more methods!

Happy Plastid farming!
