How To Find The Best Prime Day Deals
This bit’s easy, there ain’t no two ways about it. There’s going to be hundreds, if not thousands of deals kicking around the ether over the coming days. Identifying what’s a good deal, or not is a challenge (heck we know that better than anyone). But here are some key pieces of advice we recommend.
- Check the dedicated landing pages for the best deals in those specific areas.
- Bookmark this main hub for the best deals of the day (we’ll be updating as often as we can)
- Use price comparison tools, such as camelcamelcamel to check it isn’t someone pulling a fast one.
- Make sure you’re buying from a genuine seller, manufacturer, or partner of Amazon.
- Check warranty information and return details for sure.
- Look for those brands you trust, and you know are reputable.
- Make sure the product fits where you want it to.
Things to Consider When Finding a Prime Day Deal
Is this the right deal for you? Good question. We always recommend when you come into a Prime Day, or any deal period for that matter, that you know what it is you’re looking for. Those are the priority items. SSD too slow? Running out of capacity? That should be at the top of your list. Headset a bit crackly? Connection fraying? Second. Then consider what you have available to spend, allocate your budget, and go from there. If you find the odd treat here or there, or a deal that’s just too good to pass up, then absolutely go for it, but having a plan of attack for when those % off numbers rise, is a good place to start.
You then need to be thinking about the individual specs you want to hit up. We of course, have guides on everything from phones to SSDs to TVs, Gaming PCs and everything in between (we’ll link to a few of them here for you to peruse of course), just to make it easy for you to browse them at your leisure.
But yeah, have a plan in place, know what you’re looking for, and grab what you can, and make sure it’s a deal (we’ll always make sure at WePC a good deal is a good deal, but it’s always worth double checking). What might seem like a good deal for us, might not be for you, based on a whole myriad of factors that we just can’t predict. How Long Will The Amazon Prime Day Deals Last?
Amazon Prime Day has been confirmed as the 10th and the 11th of October this year. We expect deals will continue up until midnight in your region on the 11th. You’ll also likely see a few manufacturers and sellers continue on their deals for a little while longer.
One thing you should bear in mind is that not all deals last forever. These deals will typically last until the seller runs out of stock, or decides to pull the deal. Deal prices also may change on the fly, so although a product might hit a low price in the morning, it may be even lower in the evening. There’s no way of guarantee when or why this might happen sadly, but it’s something to bear in mind. If there’s a product you’re thinking about purchasing, but you’re just not quite sure if it’s for you, it can be worthwhile checking back in with it a little later to see if it’s gone even lower.
What Is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon celebrated its 20th year with a blast in 2015 and hosted an event called Prime Day. The event is similar to Black Friday but usually set in July with tons of deals from Amazon basics to some of the market’s best gaming monitors. And they seemed to like it, as the event has continued annually ever since.
This year’s Prime Day could feature the highest amount of deals yet, with stock levels starting to replenish – albeit slowly. Amazon always has deals running throughout the year, but Prime members will enjoy the largest of those deals during this event.
You can find big deals on Alexa-enabled products, Fire tablets, Fire TV, and much more. We have listed specific products and deals below, so make sure you check them out.
Amazon has announced some early Prime Day deals already across some of their own products (as well as a few others). So you don’t have to hang around if you want to start saving money now.
Anything New With Amazon Prime Day This Year?
Looking back at the previous Amazon Prime Day events, it seems they are often quite similar. You’ll be getting tons of discounts and great deals, but there’s actually more to it than meets the eye.
Unlike last year, where Amazon Prime Day got delayed by several months, this year’s event will be going ahead in June.
We are expecting some of the biggest and best deals we have ever seen from an Amazon Prime Day event this year as they always seem to outdo themselves. These deals will potentially include Apple products, TV’s, Amazon products, and much more.
What Are Lightning Deals?
Lightning deals are basically limited time and limited stock deals that Amazon runs.
Often the lightning deals will come and go quite fast, so Amazon has added some features to these specific deals that make the user experience a bit more friendly. You will be able to see what percentage of the featured items have been purchased/ is sitting in a customer’s basket. You’ll see what savings are to be made and what discount has been added.
There is also a timer added onto these product pages, so you must complete your purchase within 15 minutes. Otherwise, the item will be available to someone else.
Fortunately, Amazon is considerate enough to offer every Prime member an opportunity to get notified should the item be placed back on the lightning deals. All you have to do is join the waitlist here, and you will be notified the second the item is available.
Joining the waitlist sends an alert in the upper right-hand corner of your Amazon.com page when the deal is available. If you’re using a phone, download the Amazon App and turn the notifications on to get real-time updates when the item is available.
But aside from having to wait around for notifications, you can also visit the Amazon Deals page and sort the page by “upcoming deals”. This should give you some time to prepare before a deal goes live.
Can Prime Students Take Advantage Of Prime Day Deals?
Amazon Prime student members will get all the same access to the deals as regular members do. If you weren’t aware and are currently a student with an edu email address you can sign up to prime for six months free of charge!
