ASRock’s Z890 Taichi OCF motherboard will be the first high-end overclocking board to support memory speeds like never before.

ASRock’s Z890 Taichi OCF motherboard will be the first to support DDR5-10,000 MT/s overclocked memory and isn’t just a standard board. According to ASRock, the Taichi Z890 motherboard lineup will feature up to 9,200 MT/s overclocked memory, but the OCF design will take this even further and is confirmed to support up to 10,133 MT/s. This speed is not guaranteed and ASRock has yet to share any overclocking achievements based on the Taichi OCF. However, pictures from the in-house overclocking sessions suggest that these boards are designed for liquid nitrogen cooling.

As confirmed by pictures from in-house overclocking sessions, the Z890 will not be able to achieve these insane memory speeds of 10,133 MT/s through air cooling. Instead, these boards will be designed for nitrogen cooling – as pictured below. On top of that, ASRock also introduced a new series of features called Memory OC Shield which in simple words is said to reduce electromagnetic interference that could potentially affect overclocking headspace. Considering that, ASRock has also said that they have redesigned these boards to limit interference. The Z890 Taichi motherboard will also support both Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles so they should work on both without any hassle.

One thing that we noted is that the official memory QVL shows V-Color DDR5 memory up to 9,600 MT/s. This means that such speeds are likely not officially supported with retail-available kits but instead point towards the overclocking potential that can be achieved with these boards.

How much will the ASRock Z890 Taichi OCF motherboard cost?

While we don’t have any solid information regarding the ASRock Z890 Taichi lineup or the OCF design, the preliminary listing on Newegg shows that the OCF board will cost $599. ASRock Z890 Taichi OCF board is expected to launch later this month, so we might get to see a few more rumored pricing before the final day.
