The Balenciaga and Fortnite collab is mental
The Balenciaga Fortnite denim jacket costs more than all three current consoles combined.
European luxury fashion house Balenciaga and Epic Games’ Fortnite have announced a two-way collaboration in the form of a range of very overpriced clothes and very regularly priced Fortnite items. The pricey new clothing items are shirts, jackets and hats that new versions of the item shop characters in the battle royale game will also wear on the island.
The Balenciaga and Fortnite Clothing Range
At the most expensive end of the spectrum, there’s a $1,300 denim jacket. For $1,300 you can also get all three current gen consoles, so we’ll give that one a miss.
There’s a plain white shirt that says Fortnite on it, that costs $1000. Just buy yourself a nice plain white shirt and you can save yourself $970 and your own self respect.
They also do that shirt in black with a white version of the logo and text. We like it more, but we still don’t $1000 like it.
We don’t think the $495 t-shirts are worth it either.
You can get hoodies with the Fortnite logo on them for $725. Bandai Namco once included a white hoodie with a Tekken logo on it in a Tekken 6 collector’s edition. That was probably a better deal for a gamer hoodie that looks to be of about the same quality.
There’s a baseball cap in the range too. It costs $395, and says “Retail Row” on it in different languages, like “Perakende Pazari”. It’s costs about 12x more than we would be willing to pay for a baseball cap, so it’s clearly not for us.

Fortnite Balenciaga Fit Characters
The Balenciaga Fortnite collab range is significantly less expensive inside of the Fortnite game, so you may choose to settle for a simulation of a plain white hoodie with a video game logo on the chest instead. Balenciaga bags cost around $900 in real life, but in the game a back bling cosmetic item comes free with each of the character skins.

We’re not keen on the real clothes and their prices, but we think the in-game cosmetics are okay. That said, collabs like this one leave us confused as to who they are for, other than the stockholders at Epic Games. It’s not like the average Fortnite player is a Balenciaga fan.
