Far Cry 5 is free to play this weekend only. What’s more, if you decide you want more than a single weekend of playtime with the game, you will be able to purchase the full game to keep for all time for a massive 85% off!

85% off Far Cry 5 – a massive AAA title – is a great deal in our book, and we do so love a deal at WePC.

The game will be available from both the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect, and what better time to play the game with the release of Far Cry 6 just around the corner.

Is Far Cry 5 Worth Playing?

Far Cry 5 (technically number 12 in the Far Cry franchise of games) is regarded by many as one of the best in the iconic series. It features all the usual mix of insane villains, free-roaming open-world explosive combat, animal-based chaos, fun-to-drive vehicles, and creative homemade weaponry (the shovel launcher being a big favorite). This particular installment is set in rural Montana, where a doomsday cult has taken over an entire county and you have to take them down, one compound at a time.

Be sure to check out our Far Cry 5 system requirements page to make sure your rig will be able to run the game.

What Is Ubisoft Connect?

Ubisoft Connect combines elements of the former Uplay and Ubisoft Club elements from Ubisoft into one platform. Basically, it is an account that players can access either via their browser or the desktop client, which lets them play all of their Ubisoft games, which also keeps a track of player stats and rewards in-game as well as buy cosmetic DLC and the like. Most games sold via the platform are those published by Ubisoft, although some third-party games are also available.

What Is Epic Games Store?

As the name suggests, the Epic Games Store is a digital storefront where you can buy games. The games you download are then available to access via the Epic Games launcher app, which you can download to your PC as you would Steam or similar client applications.

The Epic Games Store frequently does completely free releases of games in weekly giveaways. Each week at WePC we do a summary of all the upcoming free games available. You can see the list of the latest free games from Epic Games here.
