It’s finally Friday and that means one thing – Friday Freebie day. We’re here with a brand new round-up some of the games you can pick up for free this weekend. This week we’re back with Epic Game Store’s offerings. Epic Games Store is offering three games this week – 20XX, Barony and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. Plus a freebie direct from Ubisoft.

If you’re a fan of retro platforms, you’ll love diving into this game. 20XX is a roguelike action platformer with a multiplayer option. In this game, you’ll have to shoot your way through hordes of enemies and face off big bosses all “in the name of saving the human race maybe!”

With random levels, each run through offers something new and fun for you and a friend. Other elements of gameplay include permanent death which will send you back to HQ and persistent upgrades which allow you to earn Soul Chips to unlock permanent upgrades along the way.

The second game on offer this week is Barony, a first-person roguelike with co-op play. This is another game which will bring up a bit of nostalgia with its clear classic RPG style.

In this game, you’ll get to explore and conquer the dungeon either alone or in a small co-op team. In the dungeon, you’ll come across monstrous enemies to slay and treasures you’ll want to loot. As you tally up your death count, you’ll be on your way to defeating the forces of evil that lurk in the dark dungeon.

Superbrothers is an action-adventure game that has an emphasis on audio-visual style, combining minimalistic, retro graphics with an elaborate soundtrack.

The game allows you to explore a small realm and use sword-based combat to battle your enemies or sworcery to solve all the “mystical, musical mysteries” this game has to offer. You’ll get to embark on a journey with a warrior monk across mountains and wilderness to fight and solve puzzles as you go. This game is a great pick for those who are looking for something a bit different to experience.

A somber exploration of war, from the perspective of boots on the ground. Valiant Hearts is far more interested in telling personal stories about war than it is about trying to recreate the Hollywood bombast and spectacle that most war games tend to focus on. With a distinct 2D art style, and a charming art style, this is an unconventional war game that is worth a look for sure.

These games will be free up until August 6th, or in the case of Valiant Hearts the 4th, so you’ll need to act quickly to get a hold of them. With the weekend coming up, now’s a great time to pick up a new game, better yet if it’s free. Remember, these aren’t just demos, you do get to keep the games forever!

Will you be picking up any of these titles? Which one appeals the most to you? Let us know how you get on with them.
