The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro have officially been announced at the galaxy unpacked event, which is annoying as we were previously convinced that they were going to announce the 3rd generation.

However, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are still exciting as they’ve been equipped with some pretty cool features. Let’s take a closer look.

New Galaxy Buds 2 Pro features confirmed
Samsung Seamless Codec
Samsung has officially announced that they’ve developed their own wireless audio codec, dubbed the Samsung Seamless Codec. This allows for full uncompressed 24-bit audio, which boasts 256x the detail of regular Bluetooth audio, supposedly.
Intelligent 360 audio
This is another further development of the spatial audio feature commonly found in headphones and earbuds these days.
This will read the audio signals and virtually position different sections of the music or other content in order to better emulate a real-world multi-speaker setup for enhanced immersion.
In addition to enhanced spatial sound, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2 will feature improved active noise canceling (ANC). Samsung claims that the ANC will be improved by 40%, but we’re going to wait for the reviews to see how that actually goes.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will be priced at $229 for the US market, other regions have yet to be confirmed.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro will be released on August 26 in most regions. You can pre-order them right now from the official Samsung website.
Awareness mode
The Galaxy Buds Pro 2 also has its awareness mode upgraded. It will detect when the wearer starts speaking, turning off the ANC, therefore allowing the user to actually hear who’s speaking.
