The RTX 4060 Ti was not a popular card in the court of public opinion, with many questioning why it exists at all. Last month’s Steam Hardware Survey seems to reinforce the unpopular opinion around the GPU as The RTX 4060 Ti doesn’t appear in June’s Steam Hardware Survey.

The June Steam Hardware Survey does not contain the RTX 4060 Ti

The RTX 4060 Ti is not a popular GPU, the performance uplift of the GPU is negligible at best and even scales negatively in some situations when compared to the RTX 3060 Ti, ouch.

A quote from Gamer’s Nexus describes the performance of this card best.

“We tested all of the games we usually test at 1080p, 1440p, and 4k. As the resolution increases the performance falls off a cliff and plummets into oblivion, so deeply into Oblivion, we were waiting for the Imperial Guard to show up” – Gamers Nexus regarding the RTX 4060 Ti.

Steam hardware survey june 2023

It’s not hard at all to see then why gamers chose not to adopt the card much at all, as the GPU does not appear in June’s Steam Hardware Survey.

Nowhere in the GPU tab of the Steam Hardware Survey does the RTX 4060 Ti appear at all. meaning there’s only a very small percentage, if any that owns and uses the RTX 4060 Ti. We do have to note, that this isn’t an exact science, Steam Hardware Survey participation is optional, so these numbers aren’t representative of every gamer. But it is strange to see the GPU not appear at all.

The smallest reported percentage in the Steam Hardware Survey is 0.15%, anything less than that may get thrown into the “Other” category, which comprises 9.92% of June’s GPUs

What does this mean for the RTX 4060 Ti?

The RTX 4060 Ti does not appear at all within the June Steam Hardware Survey, which means that the GPU wasn’t very widely adopted by participants of the Steam Hardware Survey. Again, participation is optional and does not represent all gamers in the world.

The fact that the 4060 Ti does not appear at all in the survey isn’t good for the GPU. It’s likely you’ll see a new GPU somewhere in the Steam HArdware Surbey even if it’s in small numbers. The RTX 4060 Ti 8GB variant was released on May 24th, giving gamers plenty of time to purchase and install this card before June’s Survey ended.

This fact only serves to reinforce the negative opinions around the RTX 4060 Ti and how the 8GB version can’t even keep up with the previous generation GPU it’s designed to replace in some scenarios.

Maybe July’s Steam Hardware Survey will have better news for the RTX 4060 Ti and its 16GB variant.
