Since you are here, you probably have a Celeron processor, and you might wonder if it can ruin Valorant smoothly. Valorant is a CPU-intensive game. Therefore, to run Valorant smoothly at 60 frames per second, you need a decent CPU.

Valorant – PC Requirements

These are the minimum requirements for Valorant.

  • Memory: 4 GB
  • Graphics Card: Intel HD 4000
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or Athlon 200GE
  • Storage: 23 GB
  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit

These are the minimum requirements to run Valorant. However, you will probably be getting close to 30 fps or even less sometimes.

These are the recommended requirements for Valorant.

  • Memory: 4 GB
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 or Radeon R7 240
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 or Ryzen 3 1200
  • Storage: 23 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Just looking at the minimum specs, it is clear that Celeron cannot run Valorant. Even the latest Celeron cannot compare with the Core 2 Duo, which is a decade-old CPU. We can confidently say if you are looking to play Valorant on Celeron, it is not going to work out.

Our Testing

Despite the fact that a Celeron cannot run Valorant, according to the specs. However, we continued to run tests to see if some small upgrades would work. We tested the Celeron with integrated graphics and 8 GB of memory on 720p. We tried everything, even optimizing the PC to get as much performance as possible, but we still couldn’t get a playable game.

After this failed attempt, we installed a GT 730 to see if the GPU could do the job. We were able to get 30 frames, but the CPU still could not keep up; the game would stutter, and the input delay was bad as well. All these tests were performed at 720p with 60 frames per second locked.

Final Word

So, can Intel Celeron run Valorant? Just by looking at the minimum specs and after testing, we can confidently say Celeron cannot run Valorant. Celeron is usually built for Chromebooks and Netbooks; they are built for browsing and simple tasks, not for gaming. We would recommend upgrading to at least a Core i3 processor and pairing it with a GPU like the GTX 1650 Super to get a good experience.
