Razer Iskur Gaming Chair
There can be only one - and that is Razer's philosophy when it comes to gaming chairs with it's full concentration going on the Iskur
The Razer Iskur Gaming Chair
Let’s assume you have started off on this page by clicking through the rather sexy-looking gallery images above. That’s what I would have done first, so I guess you probably did too.
If that’s the case I’ll wager you have already decided that the Iskur gaming chair from Razer certainly looks the part. You may have started off thinking, ‘yeah, it looks quite nice, but is it that nice?’, then you will have got to the image with the textured, adjustable lumbar support and thought yeah, looks the real deal.
And you’d be right. Razer has joined the big-money gaming chair market with its opening product – the Iskur which they describe as “an ergonomic gaming chair designed for posture-perfect hardcore gaming”. We aren’t going to argue. It’s great. It’s expensive but great. In fact, it’s up there with the most expensive non-boutique branded chairs we have looked at here at WePC.
Razer’s peripheral competitor Corsair is already active in this space, and there is a lot of money to be made here so it is no surprise that Razer has jumped on board. And what a debut.
Well and truly lumbared
Unlike most gaming chairs which have lumbar pillows that shift over time or fixed supports that can’t be adjusted, the Razer Iskur provides total lower back support with a built-in, fully adjustable lumbar curve that closely aligns to your spine—ensuring ideal gaming posture for maximum comfort in gaming marathons.
Even though they are nice to have, the standard cushions that come with the majority of gaming chairs are just that – cushions. Sometimes, personally, I find them a bit irritating and they end up tossed on the floor.
The adjustable lumbar support that comes with the Iskur though is like nothing we have seen before and, while lumbar supports are designed to improve posture, and therefore stop you from slouching in your chair the way you really want to, this one is surprisingly comfortable. And it looks great too.
How big is it?
With a steel-reinforced body, armrests and wheelbase, this ergonomic gaming chair can support a weight of up to 299lbs/136kg, and is ideal for gamers with a height of 5’6”–6’2”/170–190cm. It also features angled seat edges to maximize resting surface area.
Those stats pull it away from being suitable for some of the larger gamers out there – Razer is clearly trying to hit averages here, but if you fit within those size brackets, the Iskur is for you.
Customization
Unlike the majority of the gaming chair companies who offer a bewildering array of choices of materials and colors for your seat, that is not the case here. In fact, until recently, you could get the Iskur in the grand total of 1 design – the black with the rather garish Razer lime green trim and logo.
More recently a toned down, completely black version has been released which looks very smart. You aren’t going to find Marvel or game-related tie-ins here. This is the gaming chair for the consummate pro.

Costs
As we talk about adding the price of a custom head pillow on it’s time to talk about the overall cost of the chair. It’s a bit of an elephant in the room – it’s 9 and that takes it above the price of pretty much all of the premium manufacturers such as Corsair, Secretlab, and Anda Seat. You can actually pick up a Corsair chair for half that price, so is it worth it?
It kind of is yes. Construction is awesome, we love the lumbar support and it just looks premium. Of course, it’s only worth it if you have $500 to drop on a chair. You can buy a lot of new games for that.
The question is, not is it worth $500, but is it worth the extra $100-150 that other great gaming chairs will cost you, and that’s where things start to get tricky. Looking at the positives, this chair should last you the best part of a lifetime, it’s a dream to use, has 4D armrests which are fast becoming the norm, and the lumbar support – did I mention the lumbar support?
You can easily spend hours in the chair without getting squirmy, but you can in many of the others such as those from Secretlab so the decision becomes a bit harder.
Personally, though, I would buy it. It’s a great chair and deserves success. I just wish it was $100 cheaper.
Things to consider when buying a gaming chair
It’s important to realize here that you are going to be buying a piece of furniture that will hopefully last you many years, and, more importantly, provide you with a level of comfort while you are sat at your PC, that you might not have previously had. Therefore, before you click Buy, spare a thought for the following.
Price
The cost of gaming chairs can vary quite dramatically. the big-name companies are all going to be charging considerably more for their wares but there is a reason for that. generally, the materials used are of much higher quality, this is how the cheaper manufacturers can trim down their price so much. With this trimming down also comes a reduction in comfort. Extra support cushions aren’t included, the foam used in the seat and back sections won’t be as high quality and may lose its shape quicker than you would like. The seat itself might not recline or even feel as sturdy.
What we are saying, and we certainly don’t always suggest you go for the higher ticket items, but when it comes to gaming chairs you generally get what you pay for. It all depends on how happy you are to compromise.
Style
The last couple of years have definitely seen a move away from the huge gamification of gaming chairs. No longer are we only different bright green chairs with orange lightning bolts emblazoned across them but you can now get high-quality gaming chairs that do not look out of place in any corner of your home. You need to decide whether you want one that’s more akin to a big padded ‘bosses’ office chair or stick with the racing-style so popular in years gone by. It’s also worth considering you may redecorate before your chair reaches the end of its life so that bright yellow racing chair may not fit in so well in the future.
How we choose
For us, a good gaming chair is a complete necessity. Finding the right one can be determined by several key areas. The following is a list of the areas which we consider most important when selecting a quality chair:
- Ergonomic Design
- Chair Functionality
- Lumbar support
- Build materials & quality
- Aesthetics
Ultimately, if the chair you’re looking to buy can tick off a few of these fundamental criteria, you’re more than likely onto a winner. However, finding a chair that houses all these qualities can sometimes be expensive and challenging, meaning you have to spend endless amounts of time researching numerous different options.
This is where WePC comes into the equation. Our team of dedicated computer enthusiasts spend their days researching and testing the best hardware offerings on the market and have focused their energy on this guide on finding the best gaming chair.
