Nvidia’s 1080p entry-level gaming card is the RTX 3050. Over the GTX 1650 it replaces, the RTX 3050 represents a significant improvement. Tensor and RT cores are included in the RTX 3050 for ray tracing and DLSS. The GTX 1660, 1660 Super, and 1660 Ti do not have these specialist cores.
Hence this is an improvement over those models. More than 145 games and programs currently support DLSS, and some VR games also support it. To determine whether the RTX 3050’s DLSS VR performance is superior to the GTX 1660 Super, which cannot use DLSS, we will specifically test it in No Man’s Sky.

The $249 RTX 3050 is a no-brainer as a budget-friendly VR card. But in actuality, it is hard to find, rarely available at MSRP, and typically sells for more than $450 in today’s open market. The RTX 3050 is a better option as compared to the GTX 1660 Super, which is currently even more expensive for a gaming enthusiast who requires a strong entry-level VR or 1080P video card.
Upgrade to an RTX 3050 if you enjoy playing video games at 1080p or want a good entry-level VR card. In comparison to earlier GTX 16 cards, the EVGA XC Black Edition offers good performance with the added advantage of supporting ray tracing and, more specifically, DLSS.
The RTX 3050 from Nvidia performs admirably, considering its starting price of $249. It falls between the RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Super from the previous generation, which is selling for far more than what Nvidia is asking. That, however, also means that there is no way in hell that it won’t sell for outrageously inflated amounts.
Although unlike the RX 6500 XT, the GeForce RTX 3050 primarily concentrates on 1080p gaming, it can typically be stretched to ultra settings and even manage 1440p at playable (>30 fps) framerates.
Naturally, less resource-intensive games and settings should perform even better. Still, it would be best if you preferred to concentrate on the “worst-case scenario” for gaming performance than choosing titles that almost any GPU can handle.
