Taiwanese company Biostar has unveiled two new Z490 motherboards geared towards Intel’s soon to be available 10th-gen Comet Lake-S CPUs.
Branded as the RAZING Z490GTA and the RACING Z490GTN, the new line-up channels the existing ‘stylish RACING DNA’ to produce a premium set of motherboards for those wanting to make the jump to Intel’s latest chips.
In keeping with the new Z490 chipset, both of Biostar’s RACING Z490GTA and RACING Z490GTN boards use Intel’s new LGA 200 socket to cater to the higher power demands of the CPUs. Biostar says the boards are designed to offer ‘blazing-fast boost speeds with some radical new features’ that include a Super Hyper PWN to provide a fixed voltage for stable power delivery to make the most of Intel’s new Comet Lake-S processors.
Other shared features include RACING-branded armor designs, Tough Power Connector, Super Durable Inductors, EZ mode BIOS interface, PCIe M.2, LED ROCK ZONE RGB lighting and VIDID LED DJ software for customization, and additional lights in the shape of an RGB 12V LED header, and an ARGB 5V LED header. Other shared features include WiFi 6, and Intel GbE LAN.
Looking at specifics, the RACING Z490GTA is an ATX form factor motherboard with support for up to 128GB of RAM in four DIMMs alongside two PCIe. The RACING Z490GTN adheres to mini-ITX size parameters without sacrificing performance with up to 64GB of RAM across two DIMMs and one PCIe. Both RAM arrangements offer overclocking potential with boost clock speeds up to 4400 MHz.
The I/O setup is also slightly different on the two models with the RACING Z490GTA offering more ports due to the larger form factor, including a DisplayPort and pre-fitted I/O shield. Both do, however, boast four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, HDMI, and the usual array of headphone/microphone inputs.
Although we’d take Biostar’s claim that the RACING Z490GTA and the RACING Z490GTN motherboards are two of the best on the market with a pinch of salt, it’s clear the company has worked on packing in a wealth of welcome features geared at not just gamers, but content creators and professionals. Biostar is also throwing in a five-year warranty for anyone that registers their purchase via the company’s VIP Care website.
Biostar says both the RACING Z490GTA and the RACING Z490GTN are currently up for pre-order on its official site. The motherboards will be available from May 20th onward.
