PC hardware manufacturer Biostar unveiled today its very first A320 motherboard, the A32M2 Micro ATX. As the chipset suggests, the motherboard is geared towards the latest AMD Ryzen family of CPUs and APUs supporting team red’s AM4 socket.

As Biostar explains in a press release, the company has pieced together the A32M2 to cater to both the retail-consumer and office space by offering the ‘best bang for the buck motherboard’ when pitted against competitor models. Biostar says the A32M2 is a budget-friendly motherboard that sees modern technology meet a sleek, refined form factor in line with the Micro ATX format dimensions (19.8cm x 24.4cm). In particular, Biostar pinpoints cost-conscience students and office workers as those that would benefit most from the new motherboard, citing its space-saving form factor and durability thanks to 100% solid armor-plated capacitors that guarantee a long life-cycle and component stability. The press shots shared with the announcement showcase a no-nonsense, functional motherboard, free of any bells and whistles or aesthetic flourishes. Don’t expect stylized shrouds or custom RGB light shows with Biostar’s A32M2 Micro ATX motherboard.

Looking at the core specifications, Biostar lays it out as follows:

”2 DIMMs of DDR4 memory that supports up to 32G maximum capacity, PCIe 3.0 that carries a bit rate of 8GT/s with enhanced signal and data integrity while increases channel improvement, PCIe M.2 32Gb/s that delivers higher bandwidth under lower latency and is 5 times faster compared with SATA III 6Gb/s, HDMI 4K2K port that expresses bright and highly detailed content for an immersive visual experience, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB that delivers compelling performance boost with speeds up to 5Gbps built to be backwards compatible with all existing USB devices making the A32M2 motherboard an ideal choice for people who has the need a solid system for basic office work as well as casual content consumption like to watch TV shows and movies online such as YouTube or Netflix or listen to music and play some games.”

On the I/O front, the A32M2 is stacked with options: four USB 3.2 Gen 1, one PS/2 mouse, one PS/2 keyboard, one HDMI port, one VGA, one Realtek RTL8111H GbE LAN with surge protection, two USB 2.0, and three audio jacks with Realtek ALC887 7.1 channel High Definition audio.

Other features include support for DX12, HDCP, a range of internal I/O options (four SATA III 6.0 GB/s, two USB 2.0 headers, one 8-pin, one 24-pin, CPU fan connector, system fan connector, front panel header, front audio header, COM port header, and clear CMOS header), and CPU/system fan and temperature monitoring.

There’s no word yet on how much the A32M2 Micro ATX will set you back, although Biostar touting the board as a budget option suggests it will come in at the lower end of the pricing spectrum. Biostar also stopped short of detailing when or how people can expect to get their hands on the new A32M2 Micro ATX motherboard, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye out.
