The HP Elite Dragonfly G3 release date has finally come to pass, and this wafer-thin, ultra light notebook is now available to buy. Designed to be the optimum device for working and browsing on the move, including for light creative workflows, the Dragonfly G3, unlike its G2 predecessor, has a relatively tall 3:2 aspect ratio, giving more headroom for reading documents and various editing scenarios.

This 13.5″ Windows laptop is the lightest device of its kind that we’ve seen up close, lighter even than the Dell XPS 13 Plus, though without the same level of CPU power. Read on for all the info you need to know about the price of this device, its release date, and the HP Elite Dragonfly G3 specifications.

The Dell XPS 13 release date was in May 2022, so is now available to buy on the HP website. The notebook was originally supposed to release back in March, but was delayed, and has since come available on the HP store without any official announcement.

The HP Elite Dragonfly G3 price for the base model is $2,659, which comes with Core i5-1235U CPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD, and FHD+ 400nit display. The higher specced versions cost considerably more, as you can see on the HP website.

HP Elite Dragonfly G3 specifications

The HP Elite Dragonfly G3 comes with the new Intel 12th gen laptop Alder Lake U-series of CPUs designed for ultralight notebooks, in various SKU levels of power. You also get to pick either an FHD version or an OLED display, as well as various LPDDR5 RAM and SSD configurations.

The HP Elite Dragonfly G3 deviates from the previous gen-version in both the taller 3:2 display, but also the fact that it is the traditional clamshell laptop design, rather than a 2-in-1 convertible device, which may put some people off (although most tend to prefer clamshell). The display is still thankfully touchscreen however, and the display folds right back 180 degrees to lie flat on the table, which is good news for creatives who like to draw with a stylus.
