The offer runs from today, July 17th, until August 3rd. We’ve sifted through the fine print, and there doesn’t appear to be any rules about where you purchase the GPU as long as its brand new from ‘participating MSI partners’ and purchased in an eligible region. These are Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Iceland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Russia.
There’s a bit of hoop-jumping involved to get the wallet credit, but nothing too time-consuming. You’ll need to register the new GPU on the product registration page of MSI’s Member Center here and upload your invoice and a snap of the GPU’s serial number. You’ll then receive the Steam wallet code, which you can then redeem on your Steam account. MSI says verification can take up to 14 business days.
If you’re in the market for a CPU, AMD is running a similar ‘Raise the Game’ deal, except rather than cash to buy games, the chip giant is giving out Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with qualifying Ryzen-3000 series CPUs. The offer includes the recently discounted Ryzen 9 3900 X, plus the Ryzen 9 3950X, Ryzen 9 3900 XT, Ryzen 7 3800 XT, Ryzen 7 3800 X, and Ryzen 7 3700 X. AMD plans to send out game codes when Ubisoft’s action-RPG launches November 17th.
At last weekend’s Ubisoft Forward, the publisher shared a deep dive into the features and gameplay that define this latest iteration of the long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise. There’s a stylized gameplay overview trailer and a half-hour of raw gameplay footage with commentary.
