According to a post on the r/ModernWarfareII subreddit, MW2 players have discovered an exploit that allows you to farm headshots, without aiming for the head.

This will come as great news for those looking to unlock the various camos that need a certain number of headshots ahead of the MW2 Season 3 release. This is because ‘headshots’ attained by this method count toward all headshot challenges.

For now, players should capitalize on this exploit, as some of the camo challenges in MW2, particularly the gold challenges, have proven extremely laborious.

Weirdly enough, this MW2 headshot exploit, doesn’t involving aiming for the head, or even using bullets to kill the opponent, sort of.

How to automatically get headshots in MW2 multiplayer

Well, according to u/whoidpelvin, you need to use the dragons breath rounds. However, don’t be too accurate, or you might kill your opponent too soon.

This is because you must get your target to die from the fire, not from the actual shot. Which can obviously be very tricky, going against the ‘kill or be killed’ muscle memory that has been ingrained in most players for decades now.

So, land your dragons breath shot when the enemy is low on health, but not so low that the shot kills them instantly, as there must be enough health to tank the shot, but not enough to withstand the small amount of damage over time that the incendiary rounds create.

If done correctly, the enemy will die as a result of the fire damage. This won’t show as a headshot in the kill feed, but it will count as a headshot when you check your stats.

Our advice is to jump on asap and use this exploit as much as you before Infinity Ward inevitably patches this bug, or worse, comes in swinging with the banhammer.

How do I automatically get headshots in MW2 multiplayer?

You must kill enemies with Dragon’s Breath rounds. However, they need to die from the fire damage, not the shot itself.

Do these headshots count toward camo challenges?

Yes, They won’t show up as headshots in the kill feed, but do count towards the stats, and the challenges.
