As you can see there is plenty included in the whole kit. And it definitely has everything you need to get on with repairing anything you might get your hands on either for yourself or someone who might need help.

There’s not much you won’t be able to fix with this set, and you can then also show off your support with badges, posters, and pins. It also takes into consideration the elector static damage possible with the mat and straps provided, as well as all the well-done tools as always.

The bag comes with the pro kit, which we have used and reviewed previously, and that in itself is a great addition to any tech enthusiast or even an amateur. And there are plenty of use cases for the range, so we’ll see how it handles them.

Usability and features

With the whole range of tools in the bag, you can pretty much work on anything with it. The anti-clamp and opener are particularly good for getting into phones and glued devices, although this is a bit more out of the scope of what we do.

But there are plenty of other resources, the whole Pro Tech toolkit is a great feature that really can be useful for anything, especially for any smaller and more hard-to-get-at parts. And with the mat and anti-static straps, you can be sure to keep your stuff safe. It’s especially handy for those smaller devices.

It even has a great range of screwdrivers that give you a bit more leverage when trying to unscrew some of those tougher parts. For even those smaller parts, you have a caliper to measure how big that in fact is, whilst an Ammeter means you can check the electrical continuity or if the circuit works as it should.

In particular, the magnetic FixMat is very handy, as working on that, although a small size, gives you plenty of control and safety to work with. Dropping screws that get caught on the mat and then organizing them in the gaps. It was handy when the Nintendo JoyCon screws kept slipping off but not getting lost on the mat. And for bigger workspaces, the anti-static mat is good, although you do lack the magnetism

Is the iFixit repair business toolkit worth it?

The whole kit comes in at $299.99/£274.99 on the iFixit store itself. And for that price, you do get a lot of features and parts, especially when it all comes in an easy-to-transport bag. So it’s handy if you want to do work on the move.

It is quite an investment, but with it, you can be sure to be able to fix pretty much anything. You can prolong the life of a lot of devices, and iFixit is the place to find more information and help. All that might be missing is a soldering iron but that requires a bit more knowledge and practice and there are already good options to pick from anyway. So it defintely is a great choice for those reapairs, and it has all the helpful tools in it.
